Wanderers’ winger Kaliati out for eight weeks due to knee injury

Be-Forward Wanderers’ misfortunes over the past week cannot get any worse than news that right winger Isaac Kaliati will miss a couple of games in the second round of the TNM Super League.

The versatile midfielder said he would be out for eight weeks after an x-ray scan at Beit Cure Hospital where it was discovered that he picked up a knee injury.

The former Azam Tigers player picked up the injury last month during a friendly match against their reserve side at Sure Stream Stadium.

The news is a further blow to the Nomads who have a series of other injured players like Rafiq Mussa, Peter Nselema, Patrick Gunde, Peter Munthali and Nenani Juwayo.

This means Kaliati is also out of the Carlsberg Cup Finals against Silver Strikers on 10 September 10, 2016 at Kamuzu Stadium.

However, the good news for Wanderers is that their striker Jabulani Linje is finally fit after three months out with a groin injury, but he is unlikely to feature in Monday’s league showdown against Red Lions in Zomba.

Instead, the former Civo United skillful hit-man is expected to make his comeback a week later against Silver Strikers in the Carlsberg Cup Finals.
