Zakazaka, Chimango sign for Mozambican club
Malawi national football team players Jimmy Zakazazaka and Bullets midfielder Chimango Kayira have started a new lease of life in their career after signing a two-year contract at Mozambican top league side Club de Sol barely a week after training with the club.
Zakazaka confirmed to Nyasa Times in an interview on Monday that he sealed the deal together with Kayira and former Mighty Wanderers leftback Moses Chavula who joined the team earlier last year.
The two Malawian players joined the club last week after a deal facilitated by players’ scout agent Nelito Pondamali.
Zakazaka, once nicknamed ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’ by legendary Zambia’s football commentator Dennis Liwewe said the club was a professional side just like some of South Africa’s top league teams PSL teams.
“They are not far from South Africa in terms of organisation. They are paying good money better than some PSL teams in South Africa,” he said.
He said he was settling down well at the club where he has been thrown to the deep end of the striking force.
“I am doing good playing as a lone striker. Sometimes behind strikers,” he said.
Meanwhile the Malawian players are with the club in Namaacha Swaziland for a 10-day pre-season camp where they will play friendly games.
